Thanks to the Danes and the Ukrainian diaspora.

We are called Venskabsforening for ukrainere i Thy, which translates as Friendship Association for Ukrainians living in Thy (a region in Denmark).
The people who gathered were those who came to pray for Ukraine and to support the charity fundraiser for your Crisis Center. Among them were both Danes and Ukrainians.

This message was written by Anya Didyk from Denmark, from a small town of just 10,000 residents.

These simple and sincere people from the church in the town of Thisted, led by Pastor Benne Taekele Holwerda, have not forgotten about “The Big Family” during all the terrible times of our struggle.

Even if they had only sent us letters of sympathy, that alone would have meant a lot — because it is rare for people from distant corners of the planet to think about those in need thousands of kilometers away.
But these were not just letters. It was tangible support for some of our bravest reconstruction projects:
– new industrial washing machines (now our girls no longer have to get up at night to start a new laundry cycle),
– a new accessible bathroom for people in wheelchairs,
– a terrace for celebrations,
– and most recently, the renovation of our inner courtyard with flower beds and exercise equipment.

We delayed reporting back for a while, as it has been incredibly difficult to find craftsmen these days – people to build the new walking paths, carpenters for inclusive flower beds, even someone to install a new exercise machine.
But we managed. And we thank you!

Every day, we look around and remember the residents of that wonderful little town in Denmark.
